If TWITTER DIES, what now? (UPDATED)

If I were running this site after being forced to spend 44 billion dollars

in the threat of several lawsuits, I would've done the same thing.

So, Twitter (the site) is going to take the downward spiral harder than Facebook/Meta. If the forsaken bird app dies out soon, where do I go? Where do you find me? Well, right now I have a Blogger account for one. You likely came from Twitter or Newgrounds via link, and that's where I am currently. I'll stay on Twitter until the day it dies (or to the point it's not good anymore).

The Musk Man went on to great lengths to make this a free speech network, but when you fire your work force, make the Blue Checkmarks pay for a monthly fee, or whatever crazy shit I don't bother looking up. Recently, he closed off Twitter HQ and the employee badge verification thing doesn't work for the employees working there... Then all of Twitter's offices are closed. Yeah, that's the state Twitter's in at the moment.

...BUT WAIT: THERE'S MORE. Musk decides to BAN LINKS TO 3RD PARTY SOCIAL MEDIA SITES! Fortunately at the moment, it didn't mention Blogspot as a banned offense. Since you likely came here from the profile link bio, welcome to my Hidden Art Den, where I usually post my artworks, usually in detail. Check #Art Den for the works I've posted here.

WHERE AM I, NOW?

Well, there's several places I put my name in besides this here Blogspot:

Art sites:
NEWGROUNDS (The oldest account I have): https://mace121.newgrounds.com

YouTube:

Discord:

Reddits:
REDDIT (Mainly used it for Hot Wheels): https://www.reddit.com/user/Mace2-0

SUGGESTIONS?

Post-Mortem Twitter would leave everyone to go to their own ways, and here's some of the sites that are suggested by people who made it trending.

TUMBLR:

Well, I heard people are coming back to TUMBLR of all places, despite what happened a few years ago, related to the Tumblr Porn Purge that lost literally 70-80% of the site's userbase. Don't expect me to be there. I'm not a fan of this place, despite tried using it, years ago.

INSTAGRAM:

Not a chance in hell, I'll tell you that. Besides, this place doesn't favor artists, even when there's a rampant problem with art thieves roaming the place.

COHOST & MASTODON:

Ever get this weird feeling that these two places just cropped up recently? CoHost from what I looked at is a little like Tumblr, while Mastodon (no relation to the band) is a blend between Twitter & Discord, and it's open source.

I now have a CoHost account that I have to wait THREE WEEKS to get it activated. Ran by a short staff, I think. I rarely post there, but it's a possibility that I may main this site. For now, I just made the account to simply secure my name.

Mastodon on the other hand, I decide to pass on that. There's probably other sites, but this marks the next question: Where do I post my artworks?

SUGGESTIONS (FOR ART)?

If CoHost and Mastodon fails to meet my art requirements, people would suggest a few other places. I think Blogspot is the best place to post my art without compromise, but what about the other sites? Two sites I won't accept is DeviantArt or Wysp.

Artstation is going under a massive Anti-AI Protest since December 14th, but what are my other options?

PIXIV:

I inadvertedly made one just to show someone's work. It is the most requested site because it's very popular. Especially the Japanese where it was first designed for. A lot of artists I followed on Twitter have Pixiv accounts. There's only a few things I don't like; one is most of the art are mainly anime, maybe the lack of hentai filter, and username URL are treated as numbers.

ARTFOL:

(Copy-pasted from my Newgrounds) Artfol is a promising app, because it has the balls to do something that many other art sites don’t: Equality… By that, I mean it doesn’t feature the same big mainstream artists on the front page and the smaller creators will have the opportunity to be front-paged. Fun.

Downside: It only exists as a mobile app for now (that and still in beta). The desktop version is nothing more than a simple webpage with a small set of art, and to create an account isn't possible for now (unless you're supporting them on Patreon). The other downside is that this feels like the next DeviantArt as I stumble upon artists who are hit or miss in terms of their content. Basically, being featured here is a double edged sword.

INKBLOT:

This place prioritize the artist's needs, like no AI Art, Crypto crap, allowing both SFW/NSFW content, etc... I pitched the tent and made an account. It has a daily limit of a generous 10 pieces of art to post, but since I rarely do much art nowadays, I don't mind about it. It is difficult to get a following over there, but I don't care about the numbers. If they spot me, they spot me. It is a little young, but the front page is full of amateur & furry art, but this is THE Site to post my artworks outside of my previous links. No gatekeeping, no AI, no crypto spam, no art limits (in total), none of that crap.

WHERE WE END THINGS (for now)

Well, I made two new accounts in the process: One is Inkblot and the other being CoHost (until I get invited). If Twitter falls, I won't be affected much. Time to start a new era of the occasional shitposts, I guess.
